Post reptile show AWESOMENESS

So I came home with a crestie, and I think she's gorgeous! It's a little lavender pinstripe girl, and she's pretty tiny. I was worried about her not eating, but I've been cleaning poo so I figure something is going in! Anyway, it was an amazing experience, I hardly knew what to do with myself. Each booth was me going "WOW! I've only ever seen pictures of these!" I can't wait for the show in March put on by the herp society down south. It's supposed to be bigger, and have more guest speakers and whatnot. I'll definitely be getting another crestie, and then a mexican black kingsnake if I can manage :D Will probably change my mind before that, but hey, I can dream!

Well I was sittin waitin wishin'

I'm not a religious person. There is an energy other than our physical world, but I think it has more to do with dimensions than "magick." The interesting thing is that I'm finding a lot of connection with Wicca. When you get down beneath the spells, witchcraft, and other nonsense, there seems to be a belief about taking responsibility for your actions and thoughts. I've always been a sink or swim/it's your problem sort of personality, and I really like the idea of taking in the belief about balance and your presence in the world and granting it respect.

Anyway, so I'm just playing with that in my head once in a while. The problem I have is the superficial magic bits of it, where teenagers are lashing out against their parents and trying to "be different" only to wind up being like every other whiny teen on the planet.

In other news, it's getting close to the reptile expo! I really can't wait. As much as having a bearded dragon or blue tongue skink would rock, I'm just not ready to have to be around to feed them a varied diet and take care of the lighting and all that. Crested Geckos and leachies it is. Cresteds always had my attention because of their pretty colors, but the leachies can really get some nice size on them, and are just as easy to take care of. Depending on what's available at the show, I could come home with either. My plans for cresteds are to find an unsexed gecko that I like the coloring of and find a mate for it later when it's older (buy an older breeder from somebody) that way I don't have to worry about having two unsexed geckos that turn out to both be male or female. Two males would really suck actually.

Uuugh

Being sick is just so freaking lame sometimes. I have missed two days of work and school, and I just feel worse -.-' Have heard that this might lead to bloody coughing too.

On the bright side, my laptop finally has been upgraded from starter! I can actually change the wall paper to something other than a beach scene that shows up on my login screen. The only downside is that I still don't really have a word processor. There's always open office and google docs, so it's really not that big of a deal, but I still have frustrations when I try to open things and word gives me a hard time about editing or doing anything.

Also Bones is a fan-freaking-tastic show.

VP out!

As the Nazgul Flies

So I decided to try this again. My track record with blogs hasn't been optimistic, but I thought maybe rather than compartmentalizing my life into little boxes and trying to keep track of it all, I might just try using one blog for everything. Not having to worry or keep up with an image I have to maintain will be nice.
